Since I have started my SEO blog I have had the pleasure of meeting a lot of interesting fellow bloggers who thought me a lot with their good quality content and it’s time to give back.  I have decided to hold the first contest on BonsaiJon.com and I am giving away $100 for becoming a guest blogger.  I will be accepting applications starting today and I will be choosing one post every week which will be posted on a Friday.

Who Should Enter?
Anyone who has a passion for blogging and can write good quality, original content.  It doesn’t matter how long you have been blogging, how popular your are in the Blogosphere or what PageRank your blog has.

Here are some questions you might be asking yourself.

What Will I Get?

Apart from the prize money, you will get the chance to give value to readers.  The more popular the contest gets (and I’m planning for it to be huge), the more exposure you will get.  The winner will also get a permanent link from my blog, so as you have probably already figured out, I am trying my best to give you a long term value for your efforts.

What Should I Write About?

Your post can be about any of the following subjects:-

• Search Engine Optimization (ex. Link Building, Keyword Research, Competition Analysis)
• SEM / Internet Marketing
• Social Media Marketing  (PPC Guide on Facebook , Twitter Advice etc)
• Anything Related to the above.  I am excited to hear your ideas.

How Will You Choose The Winner?

The winner will be decided on 3 Factors which will be calculated over a period of one week.

1. Traffic.
   The more views a post has the more points it will obviously get.  Traffic can come from anywhere, Direct Traffic, Links from Websites, Blogs, Twitter, Squidoo, Social Networks and even PPC so feel free to promote your own posts.  Traffic from my current visitors will also be counted.
2. Bounce Rate
   Good quality content has a lower bounce rate than average content.  It shows that you can captivate the reader’s attention and provide value for the time it’s taking them to read it.
3. Comments
   Getting visitors to comment on your post

I am not giving out the exact formula of how much weight each factor has to make it a bit more exciting.

What are the Rules?
Simple.

• The post should be written in English Only.
• Post should be Unique and it must not have been posted anywhere else.
• The topic should be related to what I’ve mentioned above.
• Format.  I will leave this for you to decide.  It can be a guide, with text only, a killer “Top 10/20/25/50/100/” something type post.

Why are you doing this Mr. BonsaiJon?

There is no shame in saying that one of the main reasons is to increase this blog’s popularity.  I am working hard to provide content that can help readers get the Edge in their Online Business.   I also want to get to know personally as much good bloggers as I possibly can.
