Advertising Loans on Free Bingo Search- Really?

by BonsaiJon on January 6, 2009

I was doing some market research on the Online Bingo Industry and I started testing out some Bingo Keywords in Google (yes I am old school and I like manual work).  I found something that is a bit odd when I started searching in Google UK.  Recently the Google’s Policies on Online Gambling has changed and at first Glanced in the Ads Section I noticed something rather odd.
Payday Bank is actually advertising for loans on a gambling search term.  I am not certain if this is Illegal but in my opinion it is certainly Wrong and Immoral.

I am not against online gambling, I do play some poker, however I believe this crosses a line that shouldn’t be crossed and this kind of advertising is irresponsible.

Do you think Google Should Allow These Kinds of Ads or am I bitching too much due too the lack of sugar since I started my post holidays diet?

Hey buddy, always an interesting topic.

I think these ads should be banned.. companies offering these kind of services have no moral.

Have no moral? The average payday loan is $8 for $100 loan for a week. Payday loans are a great alternative to return check fee’s. You see apply now for a free credit card advertisement all over the internet and in your mail. People are losing their houses everyday from credit cards. Yet, everyone wants to go after payday loans and not credit cards. A credit card on average is around $200.00. Does a $200 loan make you go bankrupt? No.
So if you are going to say that companies offering these kinds of services have no moral, I would like to hear why. Email it to me because I probably wont be checking this blog for a while.
