SEO Malta Keyword Optimization

by BonsaiJon on November 19, 2008

I have been writing on this SEO blog for a few weeks now , I am from Malta and I have started a blog about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and Internet Marketing which is a very tough market with thousands of websites competing for the same keywords.  I have not worried to much about ranking for any particular keyword and now I have decided to take it country by country, focusing mainly in Malta.  Seo Malta, Malta SEO and SEO Malta Blog are the keywords I will be targeting in the following days.  I am certain I will get in the first page of Google in a couple of weeks.

Updates:

  • After 14 hours I am already page 3 position 21 in Google for SEO Malta
  • After 24 hours I am listed in page 1 position 8 in Google for SEO Blog Malta and position 9 for SEO Malta Blog. No.1 is till held by my buddy Andre of Madicted.net. He’s one of the first guys that inspired me to learn SEO.
  • After 36 hours Google took me out of their index completely.  My site was nowhere to be found.
  • After 48 hours I am taking position 3 and 5 for SEO Blog Malta and position 7 and 19 for SEO Malta.  Also I am at position 2 for Malta SEO.

We’re getting there, SEO does work!

SEO in Malta is still in it’s birth stage, searching for products is rather difficult, so Maltese online users are searching for terms and buying from foreign countries. Searching for phrases such as “buy tv malta” or “buy stereo Malta” will not turn up a single e-commerce website in the first 10 SERPS (Search Engine Rank Position) in Google.

Malta is aiming at becoming the “Smart Island” by 2010 but getting these search results when searching for something as basic as a tv is unacceptable and that’s why I want to spread SEO in Malta and help Maltese Businesses Rank Better in Search Engines.  There’s no point in having a website that can’t be found.

SEO in Malta will make a huge impact on the economy. SEO wil bring you more business, if done right.

Paying your web designer €300 to submit your website to hundreds of search engines will not get you higher rankings. SEO must be done right to achieve acceptable results.

If anyone can do it it’s you. How long do you estimate it will take? And what are you doing to rank up? Can you explain the process in detail, like what tools you are using, if any.

Keep up the effort mate. I have to say that the keywords you choose are pretty easy to rank for (especially with a whole website), since competition is minimal.

I personally made a single webpage and it’s ranking 1st page (position varies between 2nd to 6th). Got that ranking 10 mins after making my blog post too :P

Great to hear about fellow local SEOs!

Thanks for the comments Guys. Mark, I am aware that it’s not a difficult keyword to target, with such a small blog with no authority, the goal is to target key phrases that are easy to rank for. Be assured that I will be moving upwards!

I am glad to meet local SEOs also and if you ever need any assistance, feel free to contact me, I’d be happy to assist you in any way I can.

This goes for all my readers!

Hey Jon, another Malteser here. Cool to know that there are other locals interested in this stuff. I’m into search engine marketing both seo and ppc.

I wish you luck in your venture!

HI Matthew,

I’m always happy to Maltese Internet Marketers. SEO & SEM is still in it’s infancy in our country but it is people like us who will make a change/impact on the industry.

Thank you for your comments and if you ever think I can be of assistance let me know.
